About Bolaji Teniola

Bolaji Teniola is an interdisciplinary designer based in Tarntanya (Adelaide). With an Associate Degree in Furniture Design and a Bachelor of Industrial Design from RMIT University, Teniola blends the knowledge gained from these disciplines to develop pieces at the intersection of art, craft, and design. Inspired by materials and guided by the process, Teniola finds joy in allowing the process to unearth pragmatic solutions, channelling these results to exhibitions and commissions.

Moved by intrigue and a desire to explore various mediums, Teniola's fascination with materiality stems from the experience gained working for design studios locally and abroad, underpinned by an aspiration to interrogate and reimagine new outcomes.

Teniola has exhibited works nationally and internationally and founded the curatorial platform Reflections Of Home, producing group exhibitions as part of Melbourne Design Week (Victoria) 2024 and Design Biennale Rotterdam (Netherlands) 2025.

Teniola has received several design awards and commendations. In 2024, Teniola received a commendation in the Product Design category of the Emerging Designer Awards, presented by Artedomus and The Local Project. In 2022, Teniola was named the winner of the IDEA Award in the object, furniture, and lighting (rising) category.
